Launch meeting of the CLIM-FAS project

Review of the launch meeting of the CLIM-FAS project, dedicated to the study of interactions between climate change and agricultural systems. This ambitious project, part of the FairCarboN programme, relies on a dynamic consortium and interdisciplinary approaches to tackle the major challenges linked to carbon in continental ecosystems.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the project's key objectives to stakeholders:

To develop innovative and appropriate solutions for more resilient agriculture.
To combine economic, legal and environmental analyses across several Work Packages (WP).
Strengthening synergies with other projects, in particular ALAMOD, CANETE and PREFALIM.

Key points:

Administrative simplifications: data collection via PPIA, mid-term report, and elimination of intermediate data management plans.
Strategic discussions around climate models (ORCHIDEE) and economic models to integrate impacts on a regional scale.
Concrete decisions to optimise collaboration: monthly webinars, sharing space on RESANA, and coordination with the Advisory Council.

Next steps:

Transmission of the data management plan to the ANR and constitution of the Advisory Board from January 2025.
Development of a dedicated website and access to FADN data via CASD.

Thank you to all the teams involved and to the speakers for their commitment! Together, we are laying the foundations for innovative, sustainable and competitive agriculture.
