CONTINUOUS TRAINING Soil Ecology

For employees or jobseekers, engineers and technicians (consultancy, research, studies, etc.) and teachers, farmers

"Faced with the challenges of climate change, preserving biodiversity and ensuring food security, agricultural production methods must adapt to support the agro-ecological transition. These changes in agriculture, in all its diversity, require greater knowledge of how agro-ecosystems function, and in particular of the many functions performed by organisms living in soils."

Training: Soil ecology and biogeochemical cycles

From 24 to 28 March 2025

Institut Agro Montpellier
Objectives

Learn about the organisms living in soils: micro-organisms, micro-, meso- and macro-fauna, roots and plant symbionts
Understand their functions and interactions, particularly in relation to the carbon and nutrient cycles
Discuss the effects of human practices on soil bio-functioning

This course offers an in-depth immersion in soil ecology, focusing on soil functioning and its role in biogeochemical cycles, particularly the carbon cycle.

At the start of the week, half a day will be devoted to organic matter, with a talk by Tiphaine Chevallier, a member of our animation team and involved in the FairCarboN - ALAMOD project.
