Philippe Hinsinger has been awarded the 2025 INRAE Lauriers Grand Prize for Research!

A recognised specialist in rhizosphere biogeochemistry, Philippe Hinsinger has devoted his career to deciphering the role of roots in the nutrient cycle and in soil formation.

He is also co‑leader of FairCarboN Axis 2, which addresses issues related to the coupling of biogeochemical cycles.

His work has profoundly renewed our understanding of soil–plant interactions, particularly regarding the phosphorus and potassium cycles, paving the way for agricultural systems that are more efficient and less dependent on external inputs. His approach—at the crossroads of ecology and agronomy—has played a key role in promoting agroecology within INRAE and beyond.
