FairCarboN showcased at the 2026 Paris International Agricultural Show!

On 27 February, the FairCarboN Priority Research Programme (PEPR) took part in activities at the INRAE booth during the Paris International Agricultural Show. The team presented and discussed ongoing research on advances in carbon sequestration in agricultural and forest soils.

The first session focused on carbon‑sequestering practices, and the second on data collection and recent advances in soil organic carbon modelling.

  • These sessions were introduced by Anne Varet, INRAE Scientific Director for Environment and Forest.
  • The current state of knowledge and recent progress on carbon‑sequestering practices in agricultural and forest soils were presented by Delphine Derrien and Laure Bamière (INRAE).
  • This session was followed by a roundtable moderated by Suzanne Reynders (INRAE), addressing the expectations and needs of practitioners, with contributions from Laure Soucemarianadin (ACTA), Léa Dieckhoff, and Christine Deleuze (ONF).
  • The challenges and ongoing work related to data collection and advances in soil organic carbon modelling were presented by Pierre Barré (CNRS) and Ainhoa Ihasusta (INRAE).
  • This session was followed by a roundtable moderated by Patricia Garnier (INRAE), focusing on practitioners’ needs regarding data and modelling, with Sylvain Rullier (ADEME), Mélanie Juillard (Citepa), and Maira Fortunato (IFPEN).
  • The session concluded with remarks from Sébastien Treyer, Director‑General of IDDRI
