FairCarboN

Presentation

FairCarboN is an exploratory project with priority research programme and infrastructure (PEPR) funding. Its aim is to harness the efforts of all French researchers studying carbon dynamics in continental ecosystems. With a six-year budget of €40 million, FairCarboN is clarifying how continental ecosystems can help mitigate the effects of climate change. This work is key in helping attain Paris Agreement objectives.

All PEPR funding comes from France 2030, a national Investments for the Future programme. PEPR projects are nationwide efforts to structure, unify, and boost the visibility of scientists working on priority themes within France or Europe.

On February 10, the ALAMOD community gathered for a day rich in discussions and knowledge sharing on carbon modeling in different ecosystems.

From January 27 to 29, 2025, members of the CarboNium project gathered at the University of La Rochelle for 3 days of exchanges and collaborative work.
